How to work from home and look after the kids!
There isn't enough hours in the day to try and complete the household chores, take the kids to school, entertain and supervise the children. While you try to earn some money and you work from home.
But you can, we have 5 top tips to help you try and plan to manage your work load.
Get organised! If you can get a friend to take the kids to school and you can swap and pick up. This will help you enormously, especially if you also have a child at home. Get up early and get most of the obvious housework out of the way. That way you won't be worried about it all day. Try and have a designated area where you work and ensure you have an area for your child to play. Set up a toy station, dig out all the toys they hardly play.
Depending on the age of your children. Nap time is a good time for you to make calls, catch up with contacts, without a screaming child in the background. Use this time wisely, you can get a lot done, while it's quiet.
Take breaks. The same way you would have an coffee, lunch and tea break in the workplace. Implement the same routine at home. Make it fun with the children, so they feel they have had some mummy or daddy time. Take the kids out for a walk, or a trip to the park.
Friends and family. Ask friends and family to help out for the odd occasion or on a regularly basis. It could just be one morning a week or one day a week. Maybe you could return the favour for another mum. That way can both meet your deadlines.
Remember everyday is different. There will be times when it's just impossible to get anything done, especially if you or your child is unwell. Keep a pen and notebook handy. Even if you only manage to make rough notes throughout the day. Your still getting some work done!
